Narrative Porcelain Bowls Media: Bone China & Porcelain
Designs for these series are inspired by classical music. ‘Evening Song’ series is inspired by the Philip Glass opera Satyagraha, in particular Evening Song’, where repeat pattern motifs in the score are overlaid by the ascending tenor voice.
My ‘Birdsong’ series originally inspired by the compositions of Olivier Messiaen, is in development as I research composers whose music gives particular reference to birdsong. Elements of landscape both formal and informal give depth and atmosphere.
Sizes range from 49 - 18 cm in width.
