Detail Showing Glaze SurfaceHe Wishes for the Cloths of HeavenDream Pillow Dream

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and sliver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloth under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Location: Zelli Gallery, London.

Theme: Visionary Porcelain.

This narrative work in two parts, portrays the William Butler Yeats’ poem ‘He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven’

Hand built, using modelling and slab building techniques, I constructed these pieces in porcelain. Using ceramic pencil, velvet underglazes, transparent glaze and lustres the surfaces resonate with the poem.
